The Halstead Scholars Bowl team had an outstanding year, experiencing significant growth and achieving great success. They started off with a strong performance, securing an impressive 3rd place finish at their third meet in Lyons, followed by a respectable 4th place finish at Hesston. The HHS Scholars Bowl team continued to excel at the Nickerson meet, making it to the top 8 before being eliminated in the quarterfinals by TMP. With a total of 23 teams participating, the Dragons showcased their exceptional abilities.
In the CKL League meet, the team concluded the season with a remarkable 2nd place finish. "Although the Scholars Bowl season has come to an end, I am incredibly proud of the tremendous progress they have made," states Coach Kelli Zehr.
At Regionals, the team performed exceptionally well, boasting an impressive 6-1 record in the pool stage. They then advanced to the championship pool rounds, where they achieved a 2-3 record. Overall, they ended the night with a respectable 8-4 record, securing 4th place (although they narrowly missed out on advancing to State since only the top 3 teams move on).
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the season was their victory over Collegiate in the championship rounds. The team members performed exceptionally well, and Coach Kelli Zehr expressed her immense pride in each and every one of them.
