Halstead High School

We are so proud of our Lady Dragons. They fought hard all day long to come out on top as the CKL League Champions. They started the day off beating Larned in 2 sets 25-6, 25-16, then they took on the Hesston Swathers with a sweep 25-13, 25-12. Their third game of the day proved to be a little more challenging with Smoky Valley one of the top teams in 3A. The Dragons lost the first set 20-25 but rallied back to win the 2nd set 25-23. Smoky ended up winning the 3rd set. The last game in pool play the Halstead Dragons played Nickerson and won in two. Then they moved on to bracket play where they had to face the undefeated Hillsboro Trojans who were on a 40 game winning streak, but Halstead ended that,  winning in 2 sets 25-18, 25-23. As the girls celebrated their big win they knew their next game was not going to be easy but they knew they  had it in them to finish the tournament as Champions and that is just what they did beating Hoisington in 2 sets. Congratulations to girls as well as the  coaches. The ladies worked together as team and fought hard all day, with the support of the crowd, and guidance of the coaches the did what they set out to do. Way to show up and show out Dragons!!!!
