A Letter to the Dragon | By Lincoln Quteifan | August 2018
Welcome back to another school year in Halstead/Bentley. The technology department has had a very productive summer and we are ready to continue to serve our district to make education great. But first, I want to extend a sincere thank you to our Board of Education for their dedication to upgrading our technology needs and to our superintendent for trusting the technology department to implement the improvements and supporting our department. The district support staff has also worked hard and I want to thank them for helping process orders so that the materials arrived correctly and on time and a huge thank you to the maintenance department for their assistance with installation and facility preparation to help get classrooms tech-ready!
I am excited to let everyone know that we upgraded the bandwidth and improved the security of our network infrastructure. This will improve the quality of the educational technology in classrooms and all students and staff are welcome to use district wifi on their personal and school devices. Please contact the Tech Department by email for more information.
The Tech Department is dedicated to pushing forward so that educational technology is a tool to enhance the classroom. We look forward to supporting the district in their efforts to become a 1 to 1 school, and we are anxious to help enhance school safety; we will be installing a CCTV surveillance security system in the district. This is only a snap shot of our near future plans and we hope to have a chance to visit with all of you about these improvements.
Good luck with the start of a new school year and please feel welcome to contact me or anyone in the Technology Department. We are here to serve you and make technology work for you and your students!
